Suisha Film Project

Sunflower Crush was written by  Allsion O’Flynn , Ciaran Bermingham and Suisha Arts, and directed by Alison O’ Flynn.

A man falls in love with the girl who works in the local shop.“He loved her, he lost her, the consequences were crushing”

This film was created by people who have intellectual disabilities and film makers. We started the process by holding discussions and workshops on how what direction the film should go.

From there we started to draw out the characters and dress them by how we would see them dressed and looking.

The next stage we listen back to the discussions and started putting pen to paper to create our script. We continued this process for over a year.

Finally after 18 months the script was developed.

The next stage of the process we made storyboards of each scene plotting the camera shots and location sites.

Actors were auditioned and off we went to make a film.
